On a farm forty-five miles north-west of Dublin, the Brodie family produce top quality goat’s milk to create their tender, hand rolled Boilie cheeses, which they preserve in sunflower oil and herbs. From France, there is a fresh, moist Chevre by Couturier and a 2 month old Buche Chevre, which is sharp and tangy on the outside and gets richer and creamier toward the center. From Holland, Dorothea is a unique example of goat cheese with an added ingredient, potato skins. Aged 60 days this cheese is full and nutty and can even be grated. Our representative from Spain is Queso de Cabra from the La Mancha region. It has a lemony-peppery flavor and almost satiny body. All of these cheeses are displayed in a rustic genuine Buche Chevre wooden crate. This is an ideal gift for anyone who is curious to sample the many differences and complexities of goat’s milk cheese in its various stages of age and the unique differences in flavor that come from grazing the differing land of Europe. It is also ideal for the cheese lover who is lactose intolerant!
