Tarago River Cheese Company is located in Gippsland's dairying heartland
just one hour from the center of Melbourne, next to the picturesque
Tarago River. Since its inception in 1982, Tarago River Cheese Co.,
located on the farm in the foothills of Mt Baw Baw, has sourced all its
milk from its own herd of 400 Friesian cows.
A rich double cream, blue vein cheese, it has a mild taste and creamy
texture. It is ideal for first time blue eaters. The cheese is sold
coated in wax. The wax assists in flavor development and to hold in the
moisture during maturation.
